Living in Florida means spending countless days on the water. There’s nothing worse than arriving at the beach or heading out without the essentials that make the experience enjoyable. Our On the Water Go Bag is always packed and ready with water bottles, sunscreen, snorkel gear, and more—so we’re prepared for quick getaways. When we return home, we clean everything off (especially after saltwater adventures) and repack our kit for next time.
Our bag has proven useful for boat trips, paddleboard trips, cruises, and overseas trips. Everything in our Go Bag is owned and recommended by us.

We purchased our Roc Paddleboards as a couple’s Christmas gift. We love that everything comes in an easy-to-carry bag, keeping all necessary support parts together. The Roc Paddleboard includes an inflatable board, a paddle (for kayak and SUP), a hand pump, a dry bag, and a board leash. The board is easy to inflate, sturdy, and fun to paddle around.

After several paddles, we added a few items to top off our Paddleboard kit: grippers for the paddle (helps with blisters), a paddle leash, and a portable electric pump. The hand pump works fine, and you do get an arm workout, but to save our strength for the trip, we found this pump. Plugs into the car and includes multiple hose attachments for various inflation options.
Our Go Bag pairs with the paddleboard and pump, or without them.
In Our Go Bag
Sunscreen – my face is sensitive to the sun, and I’ve struggled to find a good sunscreen that does the job without breaking me out. After several tries, I found the La Roche-Posay brand with a face wash, then realized they also offered sunscreen. It keeps my face protected without feeling greasy or causing more inflammation.
Watershoes – Essential for our adventures on the water. We never know what the bottom of the water will be like. The shoes are comfortable, dry quickly, and easy to put on. They are so comfortable that we wear them while walking around after our excursions – nice not to have to carry an extra pair of shoes.
Snorkel Kit – snorkel, fins, and mask in a convenient mesh bag. We store these on our paddleboard for when we find swimming spots. We also brought our kit on board our Virgin Voyages Caribbean cruise. Even on our snorkeling excursions, we liked the familiarity of our own snorkel, mask, and fins, and on local beaches, we did not have to rent a kit.
iPhone water case – after trying several others, this one is our favorite. It locks tight, floats, and you can still use your phone. Perfect for underwater filming or photos. Our underwater videos were perfectly clear.
Collapsible Water Bottle – we love this bottle, it’s easy to use with a straw or pour option, doesn’t sweat much, and rolls up for easy storing. This brand offers a variety of sizes and colors.
Electrolytes – After being in the sun, we need more than just water to keep us hydrated and feeling good. We use Nuun tablets. They come in easy-to-store tubes, the tablets dissolve quickly, and Nuun has a variety of flavors.
Solar Portable Charger – We have this charger in our hurricane readiness pack. It’s great for beaches where the sun drains your battery quicker; this charger needs no electrical outlet, keeping you connected. It has a couple of ports to support multiple electronics.
Our Go Bag kit keeps us ready and prepared for our water adventures. What’s in your beach bag?
